What does Essence have? That is for me to know and for you to find out..

Location: 78 Miracle Mile!
If you are from Miami and don't want to spend a fortune buying a dress  you probably stay away from Miracle Mile. Well, staying away is a mistake when it comes to Essence, a small boutique in the heart of Coral Gables.
What is so great about it? The fact that they got you covered for any occasion at very moderate prices.
This is the number one spot I think off when its summer in Miami because they have that hippy "off the shoulder tops and cropped tanks" feel plus a great variety of cocktail-wear. Add that to a party city like Miami and you are all set for day & night. If you don't happen to be on Lindsay Lohan's team when it comes to partying you can also find great lady like summer dresses & office appropriate tops. Did I mention they have the best selection of maxi dresses and tunics in town?
Essence not only carries clothes , but they also have jewelry, shoes, and handbags.
They update their arrivals on facebook so you know what you are getting every week!

If you want great quality, great prices, and great service I def. recommend Essence.

Don't be shy Sandra (owner) will welcome you with a big smile!

Here is a glimpse of what you can find.

A favorite

Despite his financial woes Zac Posen still managed to put on a great show for New York Fashion Week. Sure, it lacked the lavish gowns he loves to make, but it was fun and definitely wearable. I see myself with almost all of his designs. The line featured cocktail dresses and "working girl" looks. It sort of reminded me of the Original Charlie's Angels.

Independent, hot, 20 somethings.

Hey if the shoe fits...

I get by with a little help from my friends

Help me pick my next purchase. I'll give you guys a week to vote vote vote and then I'll debut my new shoe!

YSL Tribute Sandal

Christian Louboutin Ronette

Burberry Knotted Sandal

The bad thing about a shoe lover is that you could never pick  just one. Which one would you choose?

Do it like a lady...

There must be a lot of happy Park Avenue ladies out there.. and a lot of angered PETA's.
What was the number one "must have" item present in most Fashion week collections?..  FUR a lot of FUR.

Fur at Brian Reyes, Carolina Herrera, and Oscar de La Renta...
& speaking of...
These 3 designers plus Marchesa brought classy back to the runway.

Brian Reyes known for his prim & proper uptown girl dresses made sure his rep. stayed that way.  If his catwalk was an auction it would be sold sold sold!

Carolina Herrera sure knows how to dress her socials. From the hats to the coats to the immaculate tailored pants the show was nothing but pure sophistication.

Mr. De La Renta also toyed around with his signature classy looks, but this time more than ever they seemed youthful. Before I would think perhaps when I am 40, but this collection proved to be chic & ageless.

Last is Marchesa & by far one of my favorites. It sort of reminded me of an Unkle Karl meets Galliano mix... which is certainly not a bad thing. It had the tattoo elements seen in Chanel's collection & the lingerie feel from Dior's.

Did I mention Marchesa always uses Louboutins??? The ones above are a sneak peak of Christian's fall collection.. and so far I approve.

Good Morning sunshines

For me today is one of those lazy Fridays when I woke up & really had no idea what to wear.
After spending like 2 hours staring at my closet I realized one thing. I was in the mood for comfy & casual..something that I would not find in there! Soo I turned over to my boyfriend's closet & remembered a little article I read on Elle about wearing your guy's clothes as your own.

.... and that's exactly what I did

excuse the hair & sleepy face it was 7 a.m!

So rule # one.. find something that is not too big on you

I found this purple sweater.

Rule # 2 Make it fit! Go ahead belt it out. I also decided to wear a high-waisted skirt for it to look more like my size.

Rule # 3
Add girly accessories! Wearing your boyfriend's clothes certainly does not mean looking like him.

This red ballerina flats added some color & made the outfit girly.. yet casual & comfy, exactly what I was looking for!

Last thing I threw in there was one of my "grown up" headbands.. a not too crazy one.

I went for an understated headband because my red flats were already flashy enough

So after all that I was ready to go.. with not only an brand new looking outfit
but also a little piece of "my love" to remember him all day long.

With all this buzz about weight & models

Maybe yesterday wasn't the best time for Phillip Lim to show his collection..specially with all this talk about Coco Rocha (which by no means is overweight) & Posh supporting pin thin models in The View.
Let me explain my reasoning with pictures..
These are some of the 3.1 Phillip Lim looks for next fall.. and I think they are kind of hideous!.. and he somehow manages to make the models look larger than they really are with all that layering!! What can we not so glamourous beings expect!
At first I thought it was just the bulky coats..

but he did it to dresses too!!! At least I wouldn't like to look that shapeless...
and this is coming from a designer that supposedly is really good with the concept of what women want.

I really like 3.1 Phillip Lim.. but this was a little off for me.

What do you think? Is this what girls really want?

Curious to know more about me?

I was very flattered when blogger Tiffany from  Yes.. I am a shoe whore! decided to feature me as her February blogger of the month specially because her blog is what I like to call a"must visit every day".
So if you want to know more about me & see for yourself why I like so much Tiffany's blog go to the following link and check out the interview...

Are you ready?

After what seemed to me like "the eternal absence" I am backkk!!!! So prepare for the info overload!
You may ask yourself... Where was she? and Why hasn't she given us any feedback on NYC fashion week?
Well I wasn't in New York I'll tell you that much! I was actually laying in bed with a bloody cold! (.. maybe the X Factor is starting to grow on me) .. but anyways although delirious and unable to come up with a decent post I did watch closely all the new fall trends presented in NYC.. and as you may have already guessed... I have my favorites.. and not so favorites.. so be on the look out for that :)
So first up on my list of things to blog about is my Bebe leather jacket I told you guys about back in January.

Somehow Miami has become the next Chicago & I have finally given it some use.

Monday for example, I decided to sport my "Balmain inspired Samurai" look.
How does it work? You wear a military jacket with a high hair bun & you are good to go.

Toodles until tomorrow!

Guess what?

After almost a decade of being brunette I decided to jump on the blonde train!!.. well.. the almost blonde train.. I was too afraid to look like (insert super blonde person's name) so instead went for a more subtle Olivia Palermo meets Keira  Knightley look.

The results....

What do you guys think??

p.s Happy Valentine's day

You know I love you..

Shocking!!

I haven't posted too much lately because I have been super sick but this is MAJOR!

Designer Alexander McQueen was found dead at his London home today! (Feb. 11, 2010).
It appears to have been the cause of a suicide attempt. McQueen who was only 40 years old
was devastated after his mother's death last week, however the nature of his death is still unsure.

sad sad day for the fashion world..

Rest in peace

You will always be remembered!

It's a girl's world

..or so we thought! Not only are we expected to like football but now we also have to dress like the players! Yes! this spring is all about the sport inspired clothes. It's been all over Elle and Vogue, and quite frankly I don't see the staying power of this trend. $500 sweat pants? Give me a break! But, since I like to see the beauty in everything I found a way to incorporate this trend in my closet.

..Flashback time...

You guys might remember this?

or this?

I am talking about tight high socks.

They come in a variety of colors and textures.. and the ones below from American Apparel are as sporty as sporty gets.

sport trend

Now to the million dollar question.. Would you wear it?

ps. It's almost NYC fashion week!!!!!!!!
